Charkow (Ukraine) - the famous landmarks: GazProm building & the university.
When the 2.SS-Pz. Korps captured the city of Charkow in March 1943, the 1.SS-Pz.Div. "Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler" was the first unit to enter the heart of the city. After the battle, the renamed the huge square in the panorama above in "Platz der Leibstandarte". They marked their spot by several signs placed at the main corners of the square.
After the Battle for the Kursk salient (Summer 1943), they left Charkow and started the retreat to the West bank of the Dnepr...
