The Museum shows the fierce battle in the so-called Korsun Pocket from January to February 1944. A huge group of troops were surrounded by Soviet forces.
On February 16th 1944, General Stemmermann decided to escape and gave the order to flee from this desparate situation.
On February 17th, the first troops arrived at Lyssianka while crossing the Gniloy Tikich river. The Korsun Museum is well done and is definitely well worth visiting!
