    Description:

    This hole was drilled by a predator mollusc like the Moon Snail. Its near circular hole is bevelled at the edges. Not due to sand erosion.

    These bright lines were caused by creases in the thin plastic sheet (ClingFilm) that I used to line and protect my scanner platen. Of no significance.

    Naticidae. Characteristized by deep umbilicus pit. This is an aggressive predator, drilling through other mollusc prey with its file-like tongue or radula.

    These umbonium specimens display high degree of phenotypic variability or polymorphism.

    Note the crcular holes in the gastropod on the left and the bivalve on the right. These are made by predator molluscs (snails), which probably the death of these individuals.
