Nallapattu Bird Sanctuary is about 20Kms from Sulurupetta on the National Highway#5.(100Kms from CHENNAI).Driving north from Sullurpet on NH 5 about 10Kms you would reach DORAVARICHATTRAM, a village 1 Km from the sanctuary. Turn right and drive to reach the sanctuary The bird sanctuary is the breeding ground for birds which migrate seasonally from far off places like Antarctica, U.S.A, and China to name a few.This bird sanctuary is particularly famous for Pelicans and other birds like Open bills,Whiteibis,Cormorants,Egrets,Herons,Waders & Plovers,Ducks, Painted Storks,Lapwings,Cuckoos,Bulbuls, Babblers,Iora,Coucals,King fisher-Smallblue,White breasted Pied.The best season to visit December to February.
