Anglesola. Vegetable garden in summer by Josep Giribet

My name is Josep Giribet and I am a multimedia artist. The image shows our vegetable garden at my mother's home, located in Anglesola, a small medieval village deep in the Catalan mainland, 80 miles from Barcelona. I have chosen this location as it is quite special for me and my family, as all buildings were built by my grandfather himself a century ago. In tending the garden we follow most organic agriculture principles and techniques while forsaking the use of any chemical products or pesticides. To protect it from plague we employ different plants and herbs, in accordance with organic philosophy.

This vegetable garden is one of the known hideouts of a stalwart Natterjack toad [Bufo calamita], only active at night and an avid hunter of worms, snails, caterpillars and other critters. Very beneficial for vegetable gardens, it can be seen in search of snacks mainly on full moon nights.
