Description

Kathryn Albertson Park in Boise, Idaho is a wildlife and nature habitat

On June 18, it was raining when I wanted to take a Gigapan in the park. Instead I scouted places that might work for the Nearby Nature Gigablitz and returned on June 19 to take this photo of the stump of the Worlds Largest Ponderosa pine. Unfortunately it was late afternoon and the tree was in shadow.
The tree was 7' 9" in diameter, & 126 ' in height prior to cutting. Age 376 years.
