Algonquin - Achray station - 11.07.11 - uncut site
11.07.05: set up
Cloudy afternoon and humid. Not as many parasitoids and Hym in the yellow pan traps, but many spiders while leaf litter sifting. Many tabanids and black flies. Canopy malaise trap as well as terrestrial malaise trap here.11.07.11: pick up
Good sort here after a morning of rain. Stenamma and Lasius. The terrestrial Malaise trap was not as black as the nearby cut site. The canopy trap was intact, and the top trap head had a good number of insects. The tripod is set very close to the ground for an insect's eye view - check it out displayed on a sphere using the Google Earth browser plug-in: bit.ly/o5RTjy
