This is my first foray into the world of gigapan. This is the largest pan I happen to have at this time. It was taken on a crowded day, requiring quite a bit of patience to get all the shots free of people. The interesting aspects of this view are contained within a narrow band. Expanding it in the vertical dimension would provide little additional interest: more sky, more pavement, but little else. The air was smokey from forest and brush fires burning hundreds of miles to the south, so distant objects such as Mount Adams and Mount Rainier which normally can be seen from this vantage are not visible in this image. If I get up there again on a suitable and preferably clearer day, I'll try to collect a higher resolution pan from the same viewpoint. I also post images on several photoblogs (shutter-eye.blogspot.com
, wildviewyonder.blogspot.com <
