The sleek Olympic velodrome is one of the sustainably built architectural wonders shortlisted for this year's prestigious Stirling Prize.
Part of the London 2012 Olympic Site, the Velodrome's energy-efficient design fits into the mission to make next year's Olympics eco-friendly.
This view is taken from inside the velodrome during the final stages of construction, shortly after the actual track was completed.
Bucking the trend of construction projects everywhere, it opened on time and on budget last February, while also fulfilling the Olympic Delivery Authority's stringent sustainability and recycling requirements.
