This was taken on the Deerfield River in northwestern Massachusetts, about 1/3 mile below Fife Brook Dam. The water level had just been lowered (probably within the last half hour) from about 650 CFS to about 125 CFS. At the higher levels, the river is popular with kayakers, rafters, and a few float-fishermen. Wading anglers like the river at these low flow levels.
