Other views of the Houston Police Memorial can be seen via this link gigapan.org/gigapans/most_popular/?q=houstonpolice ... you will notice that one of them was taken three years ago to this date (taken with a Leica D-Lux 3), and one two years and one month ago (Canon SX110). Based on the tree comparisons, the drought has had an effect, but not as bad as I had expected.
The curved panorama view via the "View in Google Earth" is really beautiful.
Note: Concerning the drought; I mention the drought in the GigaPan taken two years ago ... I assure you that the drought that Houston is suffering through is nothing like what we described then as drought. It has become very serious as what these two articles from the New York Times describe: www.nytimes.com/2011/08/14/opinion/sunday/as-texas-dries-out-life-falters-and-fades.html
and www.nytimes.com/aponline/2011/08/18/us/AP-US-Texas-Drought-Nearly-Dry.html?_r=1&hp
This panorama was taken with a Nikon D7000 and stitched with the GigaPan Stitcher software.

Thanks, for me it has been a dry-spell of GigaPan activity. For every summer, the heat has been so oppressive that it has been difficult to make the effort, so this particular panorama was simply to show that we are indeed in a drought and to document it.

Good to see you are gigapanning again!
