- Description
-
This canal is the only way to get to the secluded, undeveloped Brick Lake in rural Osceola County, Florida, just to
the Southeast of Orlando. Cypress trees line the canal along with pine trees. You can just make out the distinctive
Cypress 'Knees' poking out of the water. Just out of view, under the bridge where this Gigapan was taken, an
adolescent alligator hunted by the shore. The locals get to the lake on small motor boats or canoes when the water
in the canal is high enough. Since the canal and lake are difficult to get to, the fish are abundant, making it a
secluded fisherman's paradise. The dark tea color of the water is normal for this area and is the result of rotting vegetation releasing tannon.
Taken with a Canon G9 camera.
