Great Valley Grasslands State Park, on the San Joaquin River river, south of Modesto, California was a day-use only park. Surrounded by fertile agricultural land, this park preserves a rare remnant of the grasslands that once covered the entire valley. Most visitors were fishing or boating in the San Joaquin. We set up various insect traps, did extensive hand collecting and evening UV sheets at this location. Gigapan by Grace Bannon.
