Near Lee Vining, California and just outside of Yosemite National Park, Mono Lake Tufa State Park is spectacular. Located in a very arid desert region, runoff from the nearby mountains sustain a surprisingly lush, wet meadow at Mono Lake Park. The BIObus crew did extensive hand collecting in both extreme environments, set up various insect traps and a UV sheet at night. This Gigapan was captured by Grace Bannon from the boardwalk.
