Crested Butte CO. rests in a valley at just shy of 9000 ft elevation. I arrived the day after Labor Day. Town was winding down from its summer rush. There are huge mountains all around. Makes for great hiking and climbing. There are several 14,000 foot peaks nearby. Bugs were not bad this time of year, but it was getting a bit cold with light frost in the mornings.
