Taxco is a small town in the state of Guerrero is located on several hills. The white houses are enclosed in a labyrinth of streets and staircases. At the heart of the labyrinths are the church of Santa Prisca, one of the finest monuments of religious art of Mexico. In the eighteenth century, José de la Borda discovered a important silver mines. In gratitude of these treasures he built the church of Santa Prisca. The town prospered greatly until the eighteenth century and became one of the largest center of silver mining in Mexico.
