An early autumn day - overcast, cool, a light breeze, even a mist. Not enough rain over the last couple of days to help much but a very pleasant day after our intense summer (the coming night brings a nice half-inch more). Identifiable in the foreground are several prairie perennials – the inspiration for our research to develop a sustainable agriculture. Changes in the color palate as autumn progresses can be seen in the individual plants as well as in the overall landscape. To learn more of the work of The Land Institute see: www.landinstitute.org 
This handheld GigaPan was shot using a down, up, down pattern using the camera grid lines to ‘stay the course’ with reasonable overlap. Until now I thought renaming the images to load in a stitcher defined sequence was required. I didn’t do that this time – just loaded them, told it 3 rows and let ‘er rip – results Marvelous!! Thanks GigaPan!
