- Description
-
One of the largest earth-filled dams in the world impounds the waters of the mighty Peace River near Hudson's Hope, BC, Canada to form the huge reservoir of Williston Lake. The dam is 600 feet high.
The Gordon Shrum generating station with its 10 turbines produces more than 40 % of the electrical energy in BC. The massive switchyard runs at 500KVA operated by BC Hydro.
