Otter View Park, in Middlebury, VT, includes the cattail marsh along Otter Creek, the forested bank, and an adjacent field.
This image includes 34 photographs taken by cameras lofted by a kite.
Capture: Two flights on November 18, 2011 with a Levitation Delta kite lofting a Canon Powershot S95 (10 MP, 27 of the photos) or SD1100 (8 MP, 7 of the photos). The cameras were shooting straight down every 10 seconds. S95: ISO 200, shutter priority at 1/800 second, manual focus (at something short of infinity, I think). SD1100: ISO 80, program mode, manual focus at infinity.
Stitching: Microsoft ICE stitched 23 photos (unstructured, planar 2). I then added 11 other photos manually in Photoshop.
Presentation: A jpeg of the stitched image was overlain on a Google Maps satellite view and manually aligned with Photoshop's warp tool. Text was added in Photoshop.
