This was taken on the M Street public pier. The mouth of the jetty and open ocean are off the screen to the right. I shot the panorama with focus set for infinity. I then re-shot it on auto focus. I also re-shot all the frames with pier railing again with focus set at 5 feet, and then once again with focus set at 3 feet. I selected railings from the shots with the clearest railings and pasted into the shots with the best overall focus. It still isn't perfect, but it came out a lot better than It would have been with only one try. Next I need to work on getting a better stitch on the ocean. I copied and pasted moving boats and kayaks back and forth to get rid of the dreaded 1/2 objects that happen when an object is not in both frames that are being stitched together.
