120215 - Costa Rica, Area de Conservacion (ACG), Estacion Pitilla, Volcan Orosilito, 960 m

Today was my first time to Estacion Pitilla. I drove up to Santa Cecilia and then when to the station with Calixto, Freddy and Manuel. It was about a 40 min drive from Santa Cecilia to the station and SC was 30-40minr from Santa Rosa. As you can see in the GigaPan it was VERY wet and cloudy morning with much rain in the afternoon. The GigaPan was interuped by rain at 10col and there re-started. However, after this point there were problems with humidity and this is particularly evident against the canopy. I tried to re-shoot but shutter arm wouldn't depress - too WET. Many Aphaenogaster and Crematogaster here. Although cold and wet, the ant fauna that I would find appears more or less like 900m elsewhere.
