  5. Yellowstone's many rivers are busily at work cutting down through post-caldera rhyolites throughout the park. Here the Firehole River (downstream from the famous hydrothermal areas) has cut a deep gorge in obsidian-rich rhyolites.

  7. The Grand Prismatic Spring is visible from space it is so large. The colors are made from the gradation of temperatures that create mini-ecosystems for thermal bacteria mats. It is truly one of the natural wonders of the world. Enjoy!

  8. This was a low resolution (i.e., wide angle) pan, taken low resolution for speed so I could get the entire exposure done reasonably close to the geyer's eruption.
