Here is the MSL self portrait while in Yellowknife Bay! Much work has been done to this mosaic. The dust on the lens was meticulously removed, resulting in a cleaner picture - no pun intended. :D This mosaic took my computer over 12 hours to render. Incredilbe (there was a lot of image warping to do, apparently). Rem...

83 images combined to create this mosaic. Smart Sharpened at 133%. I also blew up 2 thumbnails to substitute for the missing (high resolution) images, so if you see 2 blurry spots, don't go crazy.

I started with a panorama from Sol 3 based on the raw images. I then corrected the white balance, tuned the luminosity curves to increase contrast, then upped the color saturation to make things less hazy.

I already published this Gigapan, as it is from Sol 137, but I re-projected it so we get a better look at the bay itself. Very interesting!

While Curiosity has been parked at 'Rocknest' scooping up material to be prosessed by the internal experiments she has also been busy taking images. Here are 371 of the high resolution Mastcam 100mm camera images. There are a lot more images still to be sent down from the rover that will fill in more of the horizon an...

218 raw images. Sharpened at 80%. Enjoy. Also - I used 5 or 6 thumbnail-sized images (blown up) to fill in the 5 spaces where there would have been black areas (no data/image). So it's definitely better than having nothing there, but there is an obvious loss of resolution (around the UHF antenna).

From Sol 137. Images taken with the MastCam 34mm. 4 Thumbnails were used. Have fun finding them. Sharpened at 60-something percent.

This panorama is a mosaic of images taken by the Mast Camera (Mastcam) on the NASA Mars rover Curiosity during the 106th Martian day, or sol, of the mission (Nov. 22, 2012). The rover was near a location called "Point Lake" for an overlook of a shallow depression called "Yellowknife Bay" which is in the left third of t...

Here are 140 images combined to make this complete mosaic. The other images just came down and I replaced that blown-up thumbnail with the full resolution image. The only enhancement is that I Smart Sharpened the image at 100%. We all know that I am hesitant to mess with the images other than stitching (PS does that f...
