On a lovely Fall day, I shot this pan from the gun emplacements above the Golden Gate Bridge. You can see the sweep of the headlands along the Marin Coast in great detail

Flora, for the botanists out there... Autofocus and full auto exposure on the camera, violating all the rules of good GigaPanning. This is what passes as an "artistic" shot for me.

Rodeo Beach is a textbook example of a baymouth bar, separating Rodeo Lagoon from the Pacific Ocean. Fort Cronkhite is located along the north shore of Rodeo Lagoon. The GigaPan is shot from the northwest end of WWII era Battery Alexander.

Remnants of a fog in the city made this less than optimal conditions for shooting a detailed GigaPan of this scene, so I opted for a somewhat less detailed image.

Chert, exposed here in a roadcut, was deposited on the deep seafloor and accreted to North America as part of the Franciscan Subduction Complex. Part of the Golden Gate Bridge is also visible at the right of this GigaPan.
