This is one of my favourite gigapans from Pembroke. I really like the contrast of the rural landscape and the oil and gas installations. The eponymous town of Milford Haven (right) used to be a fishing port but there are no fish now. Geologists may like to look at some nearby rocks here tinyurl.com/lhpt2n

This gigapan shows Carew Castle from the mill. The mill is the building on the left. If you look carefully you can just about make out the dam that holds the water in the mill pond (follow the wall in the foreground to the left, beyond the mill). What you can't see is the sluice gate that lets in the sea at high tide a...

This is where the Bishop of St. David's kept his forces. He had a Cathedral and a palace at St. David's (see tinyurl.com/nk8eby
) and other houses besides, but this was the seat of his military power.
You can see a similar 'fighting' castle at Kidwelly here tinyurl.com/lmux84
, the interior of Llanhaden...-

One for the geology people. This beach is supposed to be good for fossils but we didn't find any. Incidentally, there is real geological interest in the area - see the gigapans of Ian Stimpson (www.gigapan.org/viewProfile.php?userid=4217). You can see another nearby beach here tinyurl.com/mowcrw

This is the first in a series of gigapans that I took while partaking in that most British of activities: camping in the rain. Carew (tinyurl.com/lv7dtg
) is an ancient defensive site. This gigapan shows the interior of an extension made to the castle in Elizabethan times. The castle is situated next to what l...-

Of all the gigapans I have taken, this one is rapidly becoming a favourite for colour, sharpness and details. Actually there is an even better view of the place and Cathedral to be had from the hill behind the trees on the right of this shot, but I didn't discover it until after I had taken this shot and the one from t...

This an oddity. We were exploring and essentially radomly chose this as a destination on the grounds that it was nearby and had a car park marked on the map. There wasn't a great deal to see and wondered why people came here but we set off down a path through a wood hoping to find out. It later turned out that this was...

Manorbier has been described as "The pleasantest place in Wales" in particular by some guy who built his castle here. A French dude called Norman iirc. To me this castle looks like someone wanted a girly castle to show off to his mates rather than a seriously manly defensive base. You can see a proper figh...

Another new personal favourite. What really caught my eye about this scene was the decorative tilework on the front of the palace - I have never seen anything comparable on a medieval building. Clearly the bishop was an aesthete - his military fort has decorative masonry (see tinyurl.com/mzaqqf
).

A second attempt at capturing the view from Operations HQ. This version is stitched with the Gigapan stitcher as you can tell from the characteristic boomerang shape. (I assume this is a bug and have asked about it but yet to hear anything from the team.) The Autopano Giga version is worse. You can a smaller but arg...
