This is a test of a technique to capture action in low light. I used the Canon G10 to capture the scene at .25-.60 second, ISO 80, accepting the fact that I could not capture peak action. I then shot action with the Nikon D3 at ISO 1000 and patched those parts into the scene in Photoshop. The Canon fits the GigaPan but...

An Update: The actual names of these two insects was provided to me by a very nice lady who works for the Museum of Natural Science and the correction has been applied. Actually, it is called the Cockrell Butterfly Center and Insect Zoo, but I have always heard it as the Butterfly Wing of the Museum. At any one t...

A nice day in the park ... a few days later, a bitter south Texas cold front of 36 degrees came through and kept this GigaPanographer inside. Previous panoramas and GigaPans of this immediate area can be seen via these two links: share.gigapan.org/viewGigapanFullscreen.php?id=9906 and www.gigapan.org...

Actually, it is called the Cockrell Butterfly Center and Insect Zoo, but I have always heard it as the Butterfly Wing of the Museum. Actually, it is called the Cockrell Butterfly Center and Insect Zoo, but I have always heard it as the Butterfly Wing of the Museum. -
The day started out on a bad note with a crashed Mac Book Pro (graphics board), a lost-in-the-mail Christmas package; however, by three o'clock in the afternoon the package was found and the computer was fixed and returned, so to celebrate I went over to Hermann Park to take two panoramas; one of the mysterious sculp...
