Students will use the photo to find deifferent frations and change them to decimals and percents. The teacher can ask them to find percent of boys, percent sitting, percent holding something, percent wearing a certain color, etc.




Use the photo to find how many students have red ribbon tied to their wrist. Those represent the "tagged" students. Make a ratio of tagged to total. Then make a ratio equal to it with 245 over "x". Students will use cross products to find the estimated student population at our school.



Students need to zoom in to see who has a red ribbon tied around their wrist. If they do, this means they are "tagged". Measuring the height of a student compared to a bookshelf and finding the actual height of the shelf. The student standing next to the book case is 5 feet 5 inches tall. You can use that information plus measure the picture heights to set up a proportion and find the actual height of the bookcase.
