  1. Located near Lake Louise, Alberta. It's one of the most photographed scenes in Banff National Park. I would have preferred to take a larger panorama from the top of the "rockpile" but the trail was closed for repairs until later this year. Perhaps this fall...   3. A short hike from the Bow summit on the Icefields Parkway, Peyto Lake was named after pioneer explorer Bill Peyto. This is an early morning shot, around 9:00 AM when the air was calm, clear and the lighting was optimum. There was a slight breeze and the temps at the time were near freezing...not unusual at this altit...

  7. I like the play of lush forest against the craggy cliffs. The mountains are full of such contrasts - hard/soft, wet/dry, hot/cold, and more - and maybe that is the source of their appeal.
