The only lake in Romania that formed in a volcanic crater. This volcano was active about 10,000 years ago and is the youngest and southernmost member of the East Carpathian volcanic chain.
The lighting conditions were not optimal, which is why the sky is so washed out. The good news is that they got better after this...
