  6. I took this macropanorama (a repeat of Tom Lauwers' share.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=3456) with off the shelf components available for the Canon S5-IS. It's 11 x 11 frames. I made no modifications to the Gigapan unit ( except for using the S5-IS mounting plate).

  7. Bellingshausen Research Station is located in a sheltered bay on King Edward Island in the South Shetland Islands. We are just west of the Antarctic Peninsula. Notice the station's multicolored buildings, which are evident even in Google Earth.
