  8. A Tertiary aged lava flow filled a valley. However, once solidified it's proven more resistant to erosion than the rocks of the valley wall, thus it now caps a hill.

  9. The Oquirrh Mountains. Location of the Rio Tinto Kennecott Bingham Canyon Mine (one of the world's largest open pit mines) on the West end of the Salt Lake Valley. Gigapan was shot by hand standing in the Ogio parking lot in the Porter Rockwell Center in Bluffdale, Utah with a Nikon D90 and an AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 7...
