The photo series on the left shows the life cycle of the Haleakala silversword, _Argyroxiphium sandwicense_, an endemic member of the "Silversword Alliance", a group of three genera and about 28 species of plants in the sunflower family. I took this 32 frame hand held right before the rain arrived, so no 400 frame gigapan. I'll return in early May to try again.

I took this to test the stitcher's ability to work with difficult lighting and contrast (black bottle neck on black background). After failing to stitch properly with previous versions of the GigaPan stitcher,or any other stitcher I tried, GigaPan stitcher 0.4.2735 finally got it right. The earlier GigaPan stitchers ...

I took this macropanorama (a repeat of Tom Lauwers' share.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=3456) with off the shelf components available for the Canon S5-IS. It's 11 x 11 frames. I made no modifications to the Gigapan unit ( except for using the S5-IS mounting plate).
