This is a view of one of the inlets on Lake Terra Alta, bordering Oglebay Institute's Mountain Nature Camp in Terra Alta WV. This was taken at twighlight, and the sun was setting quickly, causing the change in exposure from the left side of the panorama to the right!

Here's the main lawn at the Harold L. Lyon Arboretum, a research and education arm of the University of Hawaii at Manoa. I'm working on a 1.5 gigapixel version.
Brisk trade winds and rapidly moving clouds made this a difficult image to capture.

The serpentine bedrock underlying this area has unique soil chemistry and supports many rare and endangered plant an dinsect species. Native Americans and lightning fires once kept this habitat open but Virginia Pine and Green Briar are fast encroaching.

Cierva Cove is on the west side of the Antarctic Peninsula, nestled in the north of Hughs Bay. Base Primavera is an Argentine research station on Cierva Point. The base is open only in the summer, and we were fortunate enough to arrive on a brilliant day just before the station closed for 2008. Extreme closeup detail of a 'Croton' leaf, with individual cells visible upon zooming in. Hey, I coined the term 'GIGAMACRO' with this one so check it out! Very high zoom magnification possible. Composed from 210 separate images with a 200 mm macro lens. These plants were originally from the Caribbean.
