GigaPans

Here's the main lawn at the Harold L. Lyon Arboretum, a research and education arm of the University of Hawaii at Manoa. I'm working on a 1.5 gigapixel version.
Brisk trade winds and rapidly moving clouds made this a difficult image to capture.

Many of the test tubes in this growing room contain tissue culture propagules/sterile culture seedlings of many of Hawai`i's rarest plants. A number of the species represented here have fewer than 10 individual plants remaining in the wild; a few with no known living wild specimens. Hawai`i comprises just 0.2% (1/500) of the land area of the United States, but harbors nearly 1/3 of the threatened and endangered plant and animal species in the entire country.

A busy day at the plant sale

Lichen, mosses, and liverworts on _Acacia koa_ tree trunk at the Lyon Arboretum, Manoa Valley, O`ahu. The lichen is about 6.5 cm diameter.

I took this image with the GigaPan in my hand that why it is so blurry. :(

There was no room for tripod and the rail was convex, so I thought holding the GigaPan was the best option.

This is my first panorama with my recent purchase of a Canon DSLR : EOS 550D / Rebel T2i.
It is composed of 11 photos assembled by Hugin.
Dimensions = 53125x5360

Only two pictures where aligned automatically with Hugin, so I've added ~140 controls points.
Then I had to deal with exposure, cropping, angles, ...
Around 10 failed tries before I got this result.
Not too bad for my first steps with Hugin I guess ;)
