A +/- small but easy visible Orbilia growing on the inner side of Fagus sylvatica bark. So far only found in Luxembourg and Germany. Although there is not too much depth on the z-axis, one can see more details in the 3D version: www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?auth=d3b51fe3d6a51c11d751fcc49d9f1ea5

This is an unusual site of Phragmites australis (communis) with Orbilia septispora on decaying culms and leaves. The Orbilia-fruitbodies (Ascomycetes, Orbiliomycetes) are not visible here because of their minute apothecia (only 0,2-0,5mm in diameter). A map of the site is added on the lower right side.
