This is about two thirds of a 1900 shot panorama of Mount St. Helens and Spirit Lake that I shot last summer. Unfortunately, even with the new Stitch 1.0 and my 32-bit Windows XP machine maxed out on RAM, I still managed to crash the program with an "Out of RAM" error when trying to stitch the full panorama. Since I don't forsee being able to stitch the whole thing anytime soon I've decided to break it up into two GigaPans - this one of Mt. St. Helens and another to follow ...

This GigaPan was shot early in the morning from the Windy Ridge viewpoint in the eastern portion of Mt. St. Helens National Volcanic Monument. At 1900 input images it took two hours to shoot and almost a full day to stitch on my brand new workstation. But the result is all I had hoped for and more. Now that I've finally broken the ten gigapixel barrier, I'm eager to push the outside of the envelope even further...

Access to the stones is limited to small groups early on mornings of certain days; Sunday (28/09/08) was one of those days.
This is an 8 shot handheld pano, stitched with PTGui taken at 8AM (looking slightly north of east) using a Canon 40D.
We live about 45 minutes from the henge so in trying to get the family out of the house and then be there by a specified time we were concerned about the impact that the fog would have on the travel *and* whether we would actually be able to see anyt...

Viewed from my hotel window on the 11th floor of this new resort and casino, the sun has just broken through above the Superstition Mountains. Not much detail visible at this early hour, but the colors are pretty dramatic.

Woke up early for this one. The east side of LA is covered in light while the middle of Hollywood and Koreatown remain dim.
This is a compostion made up of 10 captures from a Nikon D700. The photos were shot with a Nikon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 VR lens.
In the photo, you can spot East LA, Echo Park, Silver Lake, Mount Washington, Hollywood, Koreatown, and Downtown Los Angeles.
On the horizon, to the southwest, you can see Long Beach, the Port of Los Angeles, and San Pedro, including the Vinc...

Panorama taken from our swan from in front of our camp site in Fandango. The Fandango bar features prominently.
One could wonder what I was doing up at sunrise, but that would be an indelicate question.
