Der Alpstein ist eine Untergruppe der Appenzeller Alpen. Das Alpsteinmassiv gehoert zu den Kantonen Appenzell Innerrhoden, Appenzell Ausserrhoden und St. Gallen.
Trotz seiner im Vergleich zu anderen Alpengipfeln eher geringen Höhe - hoechster Berg ist der Saentis mit 2'501,9 m - wirkt der Alpstein aufgrund seiner noerdlichen „Vorpostenlage“ mit nur geringer Entfernung zum Bodensee

Panoramabild aufgenommen etwas oberhalb von Schwarzsee in Zermatt (Schweiz). Die Rundsicht beträgt ca. 345 Grad.
Es wurden rund 7000 Fotos (JPG) mit dem Gigapan Epic Pro, einer Nikon D80, einem Nikkor 300mm f/4 Festbrennweitenobjektiv und einem Nikkor TC-17E II Telekonverter aufgenommen. Zusammengesetzt mit Autopano Giga 2.5.

Lugano lies at the edge of Lake Lugano (Italian: Lago di Lugano or Ceresio), which is situated between the lakes Lago Maggiore and Lago di Como, south of the Alps.
The city is located where the river Cassarate enters the lake between the Brè (925m) and the San Salvatore (912m) mountains.

The Swiss Air Force demonstration at the Ebenfluh Shooting Range,
mostly referred to as Axalp because of the nearby village, is a unique possibility to see jet fighters doing live gun shooting. Together with the impressive scenery the demo is an experience that one will never forget.
