Between Cline River and Saskatchewan Crossing. The cairn in the photo was placed there as a memorial of the Overlanders who made the first trip by car from Rocky Mountain House to Saskatchewan Crossing in 1940 in 10 days. Today, it takes just 2 hours. Along this stretch of the river is also the oldest Limber Pines...
Near the center is the oldest living pine tree in Canada...it's been growing there for 1200 years. The mountains in the background are in the Siffleur Wilderness area. The river runs clear this time of year but in a few months will be loaded with silt from the glacier melt upstream.
