As a professional vr-photographer I have made larger pics long ago with the normal vr-panohead. But that is limited to 5 degree steps. It is also very easy to make mistakes, like loosing count :-((
Now I have developed a panohead that can be controlled with the laptop, giving me total freedom. I can run the whole pano on automatic off course, but I also have the ability to reshoot any step of the pano. This is great with moving objects, like people, cars, etc. I can just replace them afterwards.
It is also sturdy enough to carry a professional camera, both in portrait or landscape position. As I also have a large telescopic pole, my next project is to combine these two with a reliable good result.
