    An intentionally simple memorial to those of the regiment who died at Gettysburg. Site chosen in 1883, monument placed in 1886, dedicated in 1889 along with all other Maine monuments to that time.

    Description:

    There are numerous small patches of buffelgrass similar to this one on this hillslope. As these patches expand, they fill in the landscape to create large continuous stands of buffelgrass.
