This location in the regional preserve is North of Livermore California by about ten miles. It is about thirty miles from Berkeley California. The area is really rather remote for being so close to urban areas. It is great to have parks and hills. Mount Diablo is the peak that you see. THe view from there may be seen here;

This place has sat for a decade or more, abandoned and ignored except by cattle. 225 acres of agricultural land between San Jose and Oakland California.

This view include San Francisco, Sacramento, Tahoe, Morgan Territory, and East Livermore from Mount Diablo which is SE of Oakland California. Mount Diablo is a highly visible landmark in what we call Northern California (which is actually in about the middle of the State).

The Sandpiper is a traditional bed and breakfast located on California’s North coast in Elk California. The rooms have a great view of a cove and the surf. A large and lush garden exists on the surf side with a bench or two. This is a fine place to watch the sunset and have a little wine. The rooms here are comfortable and traditional.

This is a higer resolution image of the lights of Casa del Pomba - The House of the Dove - in Livermore California, the hub of Photon Valley. This annual event uses 301,000 lights to transform Deacon Dave's front yard into a very special place. Temperatures moved into the 90s as we sipped our Smoothies beneath the giant Valley Oak. Dragonflies hunted and courted along the edge of the pond. Notably absent to me this year are turtles and whip snakes.
