These birds rarely ever have to flap a wing to stay aloft. They will investigate you, and have four foot windspans.

Shell and Char by John Toepppen from the GigaPan Pt Lobos nonconformity by ahochstaedter
There are layers of abolone and other shells mixed with char in some locations like this. Early Chinese immigrants had a large abalone export operation here long ago, and there was whaling as well. But many of the sites seem well situated as seasonal or occasional camping sites of Native Americans. Bird also leave large deposits of shells, bones, and rich soils here.

Trail and People by John Toepppen from the GigaPan Yosemite Valley from Taft Point, California by ahochstaedter
People appear as a line of ants heading up the trails. This overlook drops down to a wet overlook of Lower Yosemite Falls and leads up to the top (in a long tall dry crack)

Suggested ZDP by John Toepppen from the GigaPan holiday on ice (Feb-2012) 3D by orbilia23
If the red and cyan image of the boy and the tree were laid on top of each other, they would appear to be located on the surface of the display. If this point were used for the ZDP, the overall anaglyph ghosting would be less. The people and objects in front of this boy would appear to be in front of the monitor, and all else behind.
Anaglyph images have much more ghosting than 3DHDTVs. Where the "stereo window" is located in panoramas can not be adjusted while viewing in real time on the GigaPan site at this time.0 comments

ZDP by John Toepppen from the GigaPan Cairns (2006) Downtown by orbilia23
Zero Deviation Point Both images overlap at this near field point. If this were pushed back about twenty five feet into the image the anaglyph ghosting would be reduced.
This is an excellent panorama and I love to see it. Your teaching others is the only way for us to propagte wide use this medium. Thanks for posting.

Pools by John Toepppen from the GigaPan El Yelmo - La Pedriza - Manzanares el Real - Madrid - España by Claudio Heidel
Holes like this seem to be created by freeze/thaw and/or erosion caused by bird droppings or other scat. Lightning also hammers high points, fusing sand in the holes, and thermally shocking the rocks. People don't write much about this in things that I read. Mostly, a person wonders why objects have the features that they have. Sometimes reading such clues reveals hidden things in obvious places.

RIGHT SIDE by John Toepppen from the GigaPan fire engines by Jason Buchheim
I am guessing thet the left camera is pivioting around its iris and the right one has the "side car" view. The slight change in perspective makes for bad splices. More images with a lesser roation between the images reduces this problem. Near objects have this issue, and deselecting near control points can reduce the issue, but at great effort.
Sometimes I mount the two cameras with the piviot point in between and have no issues or see issues in both pans.Nicely done overall. Thanks for sharing.

Lightning Strikes by John Toepppen from the GigaPan Buena Vista Color Anaglyph Stereoscopic 3D by John Toepppen
The crazed surfaces are probably due to thermal shock. These surfaces only appear on extended outcrops and these is evidence of fused sand and char. Since the granite is conductive and yet resistive, all is grounded and current limited. This has taken the lives of a friend's friends. Rocks that look like Thor's anvil are one of the few warnings that you get before a hair raising experience. Afternoon storms are common and energetic up here.
