Arms of the chair by Bill Alberts from the GigaPan Build This Chair by Bill Alberts
I make the arms by first spliting a 24" log length wise. The 1 3/4" hole in the back leg is 24" off the ground . I insert the arm into the hole and then mark where I need to drill the hole on the under side of the arm. Glue and screw and we are ready to start on the seat.

Side Rails by Bill Alberts from the GigaPan Build This Chair by Bill Alberts
This is one of 4 side rails that hold the front and the back together. I make the upper rails first at 16" and then adjust the length of the bottom rails to give the back the proper lean.

Putting the back legs and front legs together by Bill Alberts from the GigaPan Build This Chair by Bill Alberts
Because the front legs are spaced farther apart than the back legs we need to drill the next holes at an angle. Lean the back legs against a wall and then set the front legs in place. The front legs should be about 18" in front of the back legs measure from the centers of the flattened seat rails. With a straight edge draw lines on the tops of leg posts to get your drilling angles. Now you should be able to drill the holes that conect the front and the back legs. These 2" holes are drilled at 4" and 8" from the floor.
