  2. Nike, the Winged Victory of Samothrace, is a famous statue which resides now in the Louvre in Paris. However, she originally resided on top of the platform shown in the snapshot above, in a niche atop the theater at the Sanctuary of the Great Gods on the island of Samothrace, Greece.
