The newest addition to the 150 year old Soergels Orchard, Natually Soergels!

Naturally Soergels is an organic food store that is located in Wexford, Pa. Not only do they sell organic foods, but they specialize with a larger collection of gluten free, allergen free, and dairy free, and raw foods. Amy Soergel, daughter of greenhouse owner Randy Soergel, runs and manages the stores because the whole reason she wanted to open a store that specializes in gluten and allergen free foods was it is all related to treating a disease referred to as Coeliac disease.

Coeliac disease is “an autoimmune disorder of the small intestine that occurs in genetically predisposed people of all ages from middle infancy. People with celiac disease cannot tolerate gluten, found in wheat, rye, and barley, and Coeliac disease is caused by an allergic reaction to gluten in the diet that inflames and destroys the inner lining of the small intestine.”

Not only did Amy look to help people with this disease, but she also wanted to make it convenient for the ever growing population in the North Hills and Cranberry area, because there were no such stores that specifically specialized in carrying and assisting people with the needs of people in these areas with special food allergen needs. Another thing Amy looks to have one up on the competition is working with small bakeries and businesses that can contribute items that can only be found in a small personal store such as Naturally Soergels, that the bigger stores will not be carrying.

Even with the announcement of a Whole Foods setting up in the Wexford Plaza, in the Wexford Flats, Amy is not worried about losing business. She is confident that there is something special that her customers can get at her store where she is more than willing to handle anything you need personally and can talk to you about you specific dietary needs, which at a place like Whole Foods you can not receive.
