This is a shot of a working cattle ranch in Florida. The ranch covers about 1500 acres and originally had an additional 7000 acres. Hard to get a better shot of the cattle - as I moved toward them they moved away. They must have thought I was looking for a nice steak for dinner.

The Cypress Hills were the only area in Alberta not covered by glaciers during the last Ice Age. There is a wide variety of flora and fuana found nowhere else.

This happy, contented herd of cattle were, for the most part anxious to have their GigaPan portrait done by yours truly. Like people, some of them just couldn't stay put! The herd had their afternoon cud chew near Dapp, Alberta about an hour's drive north of Edmonton.

Under these gently rolling hills with it's pristine cattle ranches is one of the world's largest coal deposits with coal seams as thick as 550 meters. It was once proposed to build a thermal plant nearby to strip-mine the whole valley of the estimated 10 Billion tons of lignite and sub-bituminous coal. webma
